Welcome to the Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre

The centre houses a wide range of activities making it a one stop shop for all your families' active needs. Our 25m outdoor swimming pool and water slides are open for summer, the indoor pool and swim school operate year-round as does the gym and stadium. 2024/2025 Lifeguard Positions Available

The 2024-25 season is upon us and we have a great opportunity for people looking to secure a spot on our Stawell or St Arnaud pool teams. For a limited time, we are offering to cover the cost of becoming a qualified lifeguard, valued at $520. Applicants aged 18 or older will need a Working With Children Check.

Pool lifeguards have the most important job at Stawell Sports and Aquatic Centre and St Arnaud Swimming Pool! Their main role is prevention, educating patrons about rules and safety to eliminate the risk of drowning.

Casual lifeguards can work between three and 30 hours a week over summer – we work with our lifeguards to ensure they have the number of hours that suit their needs. Along with flexibility, other benefits include a fun and rewarding atmosphere to work in, an outdoor environment, an attractive pay rate and qualifications that are recognised Australia-wide. The lifeguard position is also a great stepping stone in terms of career progression at the centre or within Northern Grampians Shire Council.

Gym

Our state-of-the-art gym includes a wide variety of equipment. From cardio to a large free weights and weightlifting space, pin loaded machine, and an upstairs functional training space, we offer a gym that works for you.

We also offer group fitness timetable and clinical health professionals and trainers to help you reach your ultimate goal.

Swim

SSAC houses a 15m heated indoor pool and spa open year-round as well as a seasonal 25m outdoor pool with two waterslides. Read more here on pool opening times for use by the public.

Play

With four racquetball/squash courts and a multi-purpose stadium, SSAC provides the opportunity to participate in any sport, in any weather, catering for both individual and team training.
SSAC also runs stadium sports programs for social athletes looking for organised activity.
