Stawell Historical Society is run by a dedicated team of Volunteers who maintain, preserve and share the history of Stawell through our Research Centre and Old Pleasant Creek Court House Museum (1860).

Our holdings include:

  • Birth, Baptism, Marriage and Death records
  • Cemetery records
  • Church records
  • Business and Industry records
  • Gold mining history
  • Early Council rates
  • Historical Local Newspapers dating back to 1868

Our Museum displays include:

  • Local Aboriginal Artifacts
  • Photographs
  • Mining Photos, tools and objects
  • Clothing - many varied items
  • HMAS Stawell - permanent display
  • Many other items and stories
