Council Committees

Council may establish advisory committees/groups with authority to provide advice to council on various matters, such as facility management.

Advisory groups operate under Terms of Reference adopted by council which describe their purpose and structure and provide a documented basis for making future decisions.

Queen Mary Botanic Gardens Advisory Group

The Queen Mary Botanic Gardens Advisory Group was first established by council on 27 May 1997 to care and manage the facilities at the Queen Mary Botanic Gardens and Pioneer Park in St Arnaud. The gardens are one of Victoria's fine 19th Century botanic gardens and the group provides advice to ensure the gardens and park survive and flourish. The group operates under the following Terms of Reference(PDF, 220KB) .

Walkers Lake Advisory Group

The Walkers Lake Advisory Group was formed by council in 2014 and provides a community view and valuable input into the management of the Walkers Lake Reserve and the implementation of the Walkers Lake Management Plan(PDF, 8MB) and Walkers Lake Management Action Plan(PDF, 8MB). The Terms of Reference(PDF, 198KB) establish the agreed roles and functions of the group to ensure it is governed responsibly and there is a level of respect for each member's opinions and views.

Stawell Recreation Advisory Group
