The Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC) is required by law under the Emergency Management Act 1986 and 2013. Its main responsibility is to create and maintain the Municipal Emergency Management Plan (MEMP).
The Northern Grampians Shire MEMP(PDF, 892KB) outlines strategies to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies in the Northern Grampians Shire area. These emergencies can have a significant impact on residents and infrastructure, and can result in loss of life, property destruction, and community dislocation.
