Northern Grampians Shire Council is inviting parents, carers, educators, health professionals, and all community members with an interest in children's development to participate in the Early Years Community Aspirations Survey. This initiative is a crucial step in ensuring that St Arnaud takes full advantage of the significant reforms in early childhood education being rolled out by both the Victorian and Australian Governments.
With the Victorian Government's "Best Start, Best Life" reforms in full swing, St Arnaud will benefit from the construction of two new modular pre-prep buildings, scheduled to be operational by early 2025. These facilities represent just part of the State's broader push to improve early years services across Victoria.
At the national level, the Australian Government's Early Years Strategy (2024-2034) is also laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and accessible early childhood education system.
With the rising cost of living and the growing need for dual-income households, access to reliable childcare is more critical than ever. Ensuring parents can return to work or contribute to the community without being held back by a lack of childcare options is essential not just for individual families but for the local economy.
There's a lot happening in the early years space, and by participating in this survey, you are helping the Council shape the future of early childhood services in the St Arnaud region.
The survey is open to everyone with a stake in the well-being and development of children aged 0-5. Your insights are invaluable, whether you’re a current parent, considering having children, or simply interested in supporting young families.
The survey is open from 2 to 15 September 2024. You can complete the survey online by scanning the QR code, visiting our website, or picking up a hard copy from the Shire offices in St Arnaud.
Help us build a future where every child in St Arnaud has the support and opportunities to thrive. Your voice can make a difference.
