Halls Gap residents, businesspeople and visitors can experience a ‘transformation from information to inspiration’ at the grand reopening of the town’s revamped Visitor Information Centre on Friday, November 15.

The ‘Halls Gap Hub’ has been closed for five weeks to complete the redevelopment, which involves a refreshed floor plan, engaging graphics and signs incorporating Discover Northern Grampians branding, new furniture and advanced information technology systems.

The project was funded by a $50,000 State Government Tidy Towns Fund grant and $80,000 from Northern Grampians Shire Council.

Council chief executive Brent McAlister said modernising the VIC resulted in an inspiring space that fostered a sense of place and belonging for both visitors and the community.

“The project has a long list of enhancements, from a new layout and dedicated areas showcasing local produce to improved lighting and an advanced IT set-up,” he said.

“A lot of work has gone into this project and I commend all involved. The result is a very inviting space for people visiting our wonderful part of the world – I think it looks fantastic.

“I look forward to connecting with the community at the grand opening and showcasing the upgrades to everyone.”

The opening will be from 5pm to 7pm at Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre, 117 Grampians Road, Halls Gap.

Entry is free but RSVP is essential, by close of business Monday, November 11.
