A Domestic Wastewater Management Plan is a requirement under the provisions of the State Environment Protection Policy (Waters of Victoria) and enables council to effectively manage the risks associated with domestic wastewater across the shire.
The DWMP covers the assessment of new installations and alterations across the entire shire. It also sets out a requirement to make sure existing systems do not pose a threat to the environment, particularly in areas that are part of Declared Potable Water Catchments.
Council is obligated to review and update the DWMP every three years and has recently drafted a revised version. The revised version can be found here(PDF, 483KB). You can request a hard copy by calling 03 5358 8700.
Council welcomes any feedback the community may have on the DWMP by 28 January 2022 via email to ngshire@ngshire.vic.gov.au
An updated Domestic Wastewater Management Plan will be put forward for council endorsement after community feedback on the draft plan closes on 28 January 2022.
The DRAFT Domestic Wastewater Management Plan is open for community feedback until 28 January 2022.
