North Park Netball Courts

North Park Netball Court Drawing

In January 2018. Council formed the Stawell Recreation Advisory Group to provide participation in higher level projects around reserves such as North Park and Central Park.

This project, an outcome of the 2011 Masterplan and 2018 Northern Grampians Shire Council Netball Strategy, is now at completion of the construction of three reinforced concrete netball courts at North Park in Stawell with lighting to average 100 lux. There are 1.5m wide pathways connecting the spectator walkway areas with wheelchair/standing areas, two shelters with seating, and fencing.

The Northern Grampians Shire Council is committed to supporting the local economy to recover from the challenging years caused by COVID-19. The council continues to support the post-Coronavirus recovery in the shire through this project by employing local businesses and external labour to undertake this work where possible, in line with council’s procurement policies and the Local Jobs First policy.

This project was a major priority and was endorsed by a council resolution on 1 March 2021.

The new facility will be officially opened by Danielle Green, MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Sport & Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Victoria on Saturday 28 May 2022 at 11am.
