There is a strong relationship between community parks and recreation services, sport, economic development, and quality of life. Master planning for our recreation grounds enables us to assess recreation needs and interests of community members. With good planning, we can then advocate for funding support, prioritise resource allocation, and work closely with community groups and organisations to bring developments to life.

The court is utilised by the Great Western Football and Netball Club at the recreation reserve. The existing court had substantial base issues resulting in pavement/surface damage. A Facility Condition and Compliance Audit Report completed in 2017 determined the court was nearing the end of its useful life and requires reconstruction.
The community is invited to stay informed on the progress of the North Park Multipurpose Clubroom Project. In May 2018 Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford and Ripon Labor candidate Sarah de Santis handed the cheque over to members and sponsors of Swifts Football Netball Club, the primary user of North Park.
The community was involved in the development of our Stawell Parks Precinct Master Plan - the Central Park, Cato Park and the Maud Street Dams area.
