Sponsorships
A Community Sponsorship is an arrangement for the Northern Grampians Shire Council to give a group/organisation support (cash or in-kind) in return for recognition and/or benefits. It is different to a Contribution which is similar to a donation as NGSC will receive something in return and will need to be able to measure the success of the support provided.
The purpose of the council providing groups/organisations with a Community Sponsorship is to:
- Support groups/organisations that help address issues and opportunities important to the community.
- Foster strong engagement opportunities which enable the council to connect with its community in a meaningful and relevant way.
Applications for Community Sponsorships can be up to $3000 per annum.
The Community Sponsorships funding stream is open throughout the year, until all funds have been expended.
Your group/organisation can apply for a Community Sponsorship if:
- You are a not for profit or Incorporated Body with an ABN.
- You are based in, or demonstrate your request has a direct benefit to the residents of the Northern Grampians Shire
Contributions
Providing a Community Contribution provides an opportunity for council to acknowledge and support community groups to continue to provide invaluable activities and services for the benefit of Northern Grampians Shire residents.
A Contribution is an allocation of funding, a waiving of charges, or an allocation of in-kind support in recognition of significant community benefits provided by a group/organisation.
Funding or in-kind support of up to $1500 annually is available to eligible community groups. If need and community benefit can be demonstrated, groups/organisations have the option of requesting funds for a three-year period.
You are eligible to make a request for a Community Contribution if:
- you are a registered not-for-profit group/organisation with either an Incorporation Certificate/and or an ABN. If your group/organisation has neither of these an organisation that does can support you as the legal entity.
- your group/organisation is based in the Northern Grampians Shire.
Before submitting your Sponsorship or Contribution application remember to:
- read the Program Guidelines to understand your obligations and guide your application
- speak to a member of the council's Community Development Team to ensure you are applying for the most suitable grant.
