Northern Grampians Shire Council has received $50,000 in state government funding through the Tiny Towns Fund, complemented by a council contribution for the Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and hub upgrade project. The project will modernise the internal precinct of the VIC, located at zone 2 - 5 of the foyer area of the hub to create an inspiring space that fosters a sense of place and belonging for both visitors and the community.
The project will deliver the following enhancements:
- Refreshed Floor Plan: A new layout featuring carpeted areas and clear wayfinding options for a more intuitive visitor experience.
- Curated Experience Zones: Dedicated areas showcasing local products and offerings, enhancing the connection to our vibrant community.
- Engaging Graphics: Wall decals, maps, and updated branding under the theme “Discover Northern Grampians” to create an inviting atmosphere.
- New Furniture: Including a large reception desk, accessible brochure stands, display cabinets, and comfortable seating for relaxation.
- Enhanced Lighting: Improved lighting to create a warm and welcoming environment.
- Advanced IT Setup: Multiple digital and interactive screens, workstations, and charging stations to meet the needs of our tech-savvy visitors.
- Filtered Water Station: Promoting hospitality and sustainability.
- Upgraded Signage: A new 'i' sign at the front of the building and along the footpath to improve visibility and direction.
